the time of Edo, as same as traditional
rural houses around the town.
Sumiyoshi Shrine (Kawara, Sasayama)|
Main enshrined deity “Sumiyoshi-No-Ookami”
is universally worshiped as a god of sailing,
agriculture, industrials, Waka poem. The shrine
was established in 1081 to pray for the safety
from disaster and good harvest.

In Sumiyoshi Shrine, there is "Garden of
Suminoe" (Dry landscape gardens) designed
by Mirei Shigemori, an honorable garden
Houkabe Shrine, (Miyanomae, Sasayama)|
A branch shrine to which a divided
enshrined deity has been transferred
from Yasaka Shrine.The festival is
designated cultural treasure for Japan
and Hyogo prefecture. They had
succeeded middle and early modern
times ‘ form of festivals.
The special floats called “Kiuri-Yama”that are to be used at Oyama ritual.|
In the annual “Gion festival in Tanba” on every first
Saturday of August, the Oyama ritual is conducted
just one time in every 3 years. The ritual is
designated as National Intangible Local Cultural
Asset. We can see in 2019, for the next time.
Kasuga shrine’s Noh performing stage (Kurooka, Sasayama)|
The Noh performing stage, Japan’s National
Important Cultural Property, was built as
donation from the 13th local lord of
Sasayama Tadanaga Aoyama, in 1861.
